The battle gong plays in my mind,

Things look up and down at times,

I'm afraid that this could be the end,

In the midst of all my flaws,

I'm at the end of the rope,

In the twilight of day,

This mind is awake,

That I could or couldn't control,

In this piece of earth I inhabit,

These awesome dreams make me happy,

To think of the journey toward it,

Is this the start of a series?

Looking to the sprint ahead,

As death knocks me down,
